Senior Business Analyst
What’s this position about?
Our Business Analyst Team at Makosi is growing! We are looking for a detail-orientated, highly organised, and structured thinker for the role of Senior Business Analyst in the Technology & Innovation Team at Makosi. The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate business and IT - dependent processes, extract, and document requirements, while identifying bottlenecks and alleviating inefficiencies. We're looking for someone who is comfortable interacting with business stakeholders and asking the right questions to break a process into smaller parts, document a set of detailed requirements, and then ensure that it is successfully implemented and adopted.

Duties
Your Daily Adventures Will Include
- Working with the Product team, to build and release functionality needed to support business processes and drive strategic objectives
- Requirements and process workshop facilitation with both internal stakeholders and Clients
- Actively engaging with Stakeholders, building relationships, managing expectations and communicating timelines
- Managing Requirements from end to end - including determining scope, documenting, managing sign off, refinement and estimation, supporting the SDLC process, facilitating and managing UAT, driving change management, adoption and training with users
- Active backlog management and prioritization
- End to end Process documentation
- Root cause analysis of production defects and recurring issues
- Participating in our Sprint meetings, including Sprint planning and reviews, Refinement, Product design, daily Stand-up and Retrospectives
- Supporting the SDLC process to ensure that we continuously deliver business value
Requirements & Skills
- 3-5 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, including 1-2 years in a Senior Business Analyst/Product Owner role
- Holds a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Data Analytics, complemented by Agile/Scrum/Product Owner certification or a similar qualification
- Experience in using JIRA (or another similar tool), along with expertise in wireframing tools such as Balsamiq and Figma
- Capable of generating comprehensive system documentation, including Data Dictionaries, Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), and Business Requirement Specifications
- Well-versed in SCRUM/Agile techniques employed throughout the software development lifecycle
- Competent in recommending and improving existing development processes
- Experience in front-end system requirements
